To play your favorite song on the guitar, you must first learn the chord system. This is the basis of rhythm when playing this instrument. But you don't need to memorize all the chords, just learn the basics and you can play any of them yourself.

Step 1
Remember the location of the notes on the fretboard. To do this, you should print the image of the neck and hang it so that you can pay attention to it as often as possible. You can place it next to your bed, or you can place the picture on your computer desktop.
Step 2
Study the scales. They are used to make it easier for novice guitarists to master the instrument and learn the arrangement of notes on the guitar. Gamma is a specific sequence of seven sounds, which is divided into major and minor. From here, for example, G-minor, C-major and many other sequences are distinguished.
Step 3
Become familiar with the steps that represent the position of the sound in the scale. For example, you can take one of the most common scales "C major". It has seven basic steps: C (do), D (re), E (mi), F (fa), G (salt), A (la) and B (si). The C note in this scale is the first note, and the B note is the last. The note between D and E is called the "boosted second" and is referred to as D #. If we consider the scale in the form of "C minor", then the main steps here will be the notes C, D, D #, F, G, G #, A #.
Step 4
Start building chords within the same scale. On the basic steps of "C major" you can practice playing the chords Cmaj7, Dm7, Em7, Fmaj7, G7, Am7, Bm7b5. Place your left (right - for lefties) hand on the bar. Using your index finger, try to move from the first string to the second, while simultaneously moving your middle and index fingers to adjacent strings: from the third to the fourth, from the fifth to the sixth, etc.
Step 5
Start learning more advanced finger placement. For example, in the chord Cmaj7 and many others, the thumb is also involved. Then adjust to rearrange your fingers without changing the position of your left hand. You have to grip the strings as tightly as possible, this skill does not come immediately. Try pinching a few of them and holding for 20-30 seconds. Gradually increase this time to a minute. With constant training, your fingers will become stronger, and it will be much easier to pick out chords.
