A spinning donk can be called a more "advanced" version of the usual "zakidushka" - one of the most popular tackle designed for catching freshwater fish and used by fishermen for many decades.
A bit of theory
Donka is a versatile tackle that can be used to fish for bream, borer, roach, carp, carp and many other representatives of lake and river ichthyofauna. In fact, this tackle is a fishing line, on one side of which a lead sinker is mounted, and a leash with a hook is attached a little higher.
Basically, donku is used by those fishermen who are adherents of the traditional, time-tested method of fishing, or those who cannot afford the more "fashionable" feeder tackle.
All that is needed for the donkey is an ordinary spinning rod, spinning reel, weights, hooks, line and a strong leash. Special fishing bells or bells are usually used as a bite alarm.
I must say that every fisherman mounts a donk for himself, experimenting with the thickness of the line, the size of the hooks and the length of the leashes. It often happens that a fisherman uses only the "old-fashioned" inertial reel.
Correct rigging
It is quite simple to make a bottom tackle intended for spinning fishing. To do this, wind a line with a thickness of 0.25-0.3 cm on a spool and attach a small sinker to it using a swivel. Each fisherman chooses the weight of the sinker for himself, but in most cases it is from 30 to 100 g.
At some distance from the sinker (from half a meter and more), a leash with a length of 20-30 cm should be attached and equipped with a hook. I must say that the donka is a tackle for fishing medium and large fish, so the hooks need to be selected appropriately. Hooks №6-№8 are optimal for fishing on the donk.
I must say that in some cases the sinker on the bottom tackle is used simultaneously as a feeder. For this type of rig, a special sinker is purchased, equipped with a container for bait.
What to catch?
When fishing with bottom tackle, a red worm, maggot, boiled or canned corn, steamed pearl barley or wheat are used as a nozzle.
If the donka is equipped with a feeder sinker, you can use a mixture of sunflower meal, wheat or rye bread crumbs, semolina, finely chopped red worms or maggots as a bait. A few drops of natural essential oil based on garlic, anise, hemp, fennel or vanilla can be added to the groundbait as an aromatic additive.
