Hawa nagila is a Jewish wedding dance that is distinguished by its beauty and rhythm. Perhaps you do not belong to this nation, but your fiancé or bride is Jewish, so you will have to learn all the elements of this dance. This will give the celebration the flavor of a real Jewish wedding.
It is necessary
- - two chairs;
- - silk scarf;
- - Jewish music.
Instructions
Step 1
Put a disc with Jewish folk music in the player, and if a live band is playing at the celebration, then ask them to play something like that.
Step 2
After that, place two chairs in the center of the room so that the bride and groom can sit on them during the music. And also ask several strong men to be near the chairs, who, during the dance, can easily lift the newlyweds up.
Step 3
Gather all the guests near the center of the hall so that they dance next to the young ones. Movements should match the rhythm of the music, i.e. at first be unhurried and flexible, and then gradually accelerate. Tell everyone present to hold hands and begin to move first to the right side with the left foot, and then with the right. The next movement begins with the left foot placed behind the right, the last step is taken. All of these elements are repeated.
Step 4
Warn the bride and groom to keep their backs slightly tilted to prevent accidents, and may not be able to hold onto the edges of chairs all the time. After that, prepare a silk scarf and give one end to the bride and the other to the groom, this moment will give the dance even more touching and soulfulness. Also advise the newlyweds to wave the scarf for a while so that guests can walk under it. By the way, the parents of the spouses must be among the latter.
Step 5
During the dance, you can act out a little scene about your future family life, for example, about housekeeping or raising children. This is necessary so that young people remember their responsibilities to each other. Then divide all the guests present on the side of the bride and groom so that a kind of gap forms between them, which should disappear during the dance and all those present merge into one friendly company.
