It happens that, through negligence, a child or an adult can tear a book. For minor repairs, you can use masking tape (available from office supply stores). The advantage of masking tape over scotch tape is the fabric base, which does not allow the glue layer to soak (over time) and the reverse side of this tape, which can lead to sticking of the pages.

Instructions

Step 1

About twenty years ago, I had to use domestic-made scotch tape, and this problem arose constantly. Although the quality of the tape has improved now, the result will be the same if you, say, put a book near a hot battery for a long time. Therefore, it is better to use masking tape.

Step 2

Place the torn off page on its original location, glue a piece of masking tape and attach it so that it covers the page and part of the binding (it is also possible that it covers a small part of the adjacent page).

Step 3

There are times when you need to glue the pages themselves. Then you cannot do without scotch tape, otherwise part of the text will be unreadable. In this case, tape the entire width of the page, even if it is not completely torn off. If you stop in the middle of a page, the tape may peel off a little over time, and because of this, the adjacent one may stick to this page. Moreover, a whole page glued will turn out to be much stronger than pages not glued to the end.
