Metal engraving is applied by hand or using electromechanical and laser equipment. She is decorated with household items, jewelry and edged weapons. To create a linocut, linoleum with a thickness of 2-5 mm is used, on which printing ink is applied. This type of engraving allows you to create large-format images.

Today, the concept of engraving has become much broader, since the method of creating images and inscriptions using impressions is used not only in typography and illustration, but also in other fields. So, the printing of a logo or metal sample on a jewelry piece is also an imprint, and modern paper bills are certainly decorated with images made using the engraving technique.

You can make a simple engraving sample with your own hands. To do this, you will need a wooden board, a roller, paint, woodcarving tools, and a piece of paper. Use a knife or special wood cutters to carve the image onto the board. Roll paint onto the surface of the stamp and then apply it to a sheet of paper. If carving wood seems time-consuming to you, use a small, sturdy piece of linoleum instead. There are also special kits on sale for creating engravings.
