Instructions

Step 1

The first Tilda was born not so long ago - in 1999. Its creator is Tone Finanger, an artist from Norway. Since then, she has already written 8 books, containing not only patterns and recommendations for sewing dolls, but also many ideas for decorating the house, according to a specific theme: Christmas, Easter, spring, summer, etc. In addition to books, special sets with fabrics and patterns are produced for making a certain model of a Tilda doll. Ready-made dolls are not for sale (unless they are made by craftswomen to order), since the main idea here is to create a doll with your own hands.

Step 2

Tilda has many images: gardener dolls and housewives, angels and fairy-tale characters, hares and cats, dogs and bears. Their common features include small eyes, which are made of beads, embroidered or painted with acrylic paints, and a cheerful blush on the cheeks, drawn with a colored pencil or applied using cosmetic blush. All of them are performed using the same technology. As a rule, dolls are sewn from natural materials - linen, calico, cotton, woolen or denim fabrics. Since the toys themselves are small in size, the fabric pattern should match them and be small enough.

Step 3

The doll's clothes are most often sewn directly to the body. So that the doll can bend its limbs and sit, its legs are stitched in the knees, and the arms - in the elbows. One of Tilda's distinguishing features is her tan. To obtain it, the fabric from which the body is made is tinted with a solution of tea, coffee or cinnamon, to which a little salt is added to fix the color. For stuffing, a synthetic winterizer or holofiber is usually used. Doll hair is made from yarn, wool, floss and other materials.

Step 4

Tilda dolls will be a great gift for any occasion. Although they can be great toys for children, their main purpose is to decorate the interior, bringing an atmosphere of kindness, warmth and comfort to the home. Sometimes the doll acts as an air freshener. For this purpose, a sachet is put into her torso - a bag filled with vanilla, cinnamon or aromatic herbs. An example of such a toy is the lavender hare. Within a month, the dolls spread the aroma in space, but even later it does not disappear completely, but is felt when Tilda is picked up. Creating this wonderful toy, you can give free rein to unbridled imagination, dressing it up in any outfit or making it a character in one of your favorite books.
