Rhyme is the consonance of words, most often located at the end of two poetic lines. It has many characteristics that make it easier to find rhyme words at the end of a line. The most commonly used rhyme is based on the sound similarity of the last syllable.

Step 1
In the exact rhyme, a couple of words are used, the last syllables of which are strictly consonant: enemy-darkness, hatch-trick, etc. this rhyme is the most common and often serves as a criterion for evaluating the poet's skill.
Step 2
The approximate rhyme is based on the similarity of syllables, but allows for greater freedom of choice of words: syllables-currents, prayer-broken. The simultaneous use of voiced and voiceless consonants, as well as consonants of the same row (k-x-g) is allowed. Sometimes aspiring poets abuse this kind of rhyme, which makes the creation sloppy.
Step 3
There are masculine, feminine, dactylic, hyperdactylic rhymes. This characteristic determines the number of syllables after the extreme stressed syllable of the line. Accordingly, it can be zero, one, two, three syllables.

The last option is difficult to understand, but very easy to write, since it does not require an instant search for rhyme.
Step 5
Before rhyming a word, analyze its sound composition and, in general, the idea. A number of words such as "love", "again", "tear" and others (you can identify them in practice), it is better not to use at the end of the line. The rhymes for them can be counted on the fingers of one hand, and all of them have been used many times. Try to rearrange the line so that a fresher word appears at the end, not overwritten by rhymes.
Step 6
You don't have to put the rhyme at the end of the line. In the poem, the link to which is under the article, the first syllables of the lines are rhymed, simultaneously combined with the last syllables of the previous lines. You can use any methods you like, the main thing is to experiment with the word.
Step 7
Use rhyme dictionaries. Services that host the poetry of modern authors allow you to find the most unexpected and new rhyme words. If you don't have a computer at hand, you can scroll through the syllables in your head using the end of the line you're looking for and constantly replacing the consonant in front of it.
Step 8
You don't have to rhyme at all. White verse, while remaining rhythmic, has a free ending and is read quite easily due to the similarity with everyday speech. You can use it as an element of your form and not feel remorse for your laziness if you put deep meaning and other decorations into your work.
