Every person at least once in his life is visited by the thought of flying. Unfortunately, the dream does not always come true in reality. But practically everyone who knows how to hold an instrument can make a controlled flying model of an airplane with their own hands. Feel like you are at the helm of a real plane.
Instructions
Step 1
You can easily make a working miniature model of an airplane designed to fly in a large room, an assembly hall, or a large office space. The model is controlled by a sensor based on infrared diodes, so you will only be able to start your plane flying down the street in cloudy weather or after sunset.
Step 2
The model is controlled by two channels - using the rudder and by adjusting the engine speed. The simplicity of the device, unfortunately, determines the low survivability of the aircraft: it will last for a couple of weeks, it is very flimsy and can break if it hits walls or furniture. But then no one bothers to make a new model on the same base from a motor, a receiver and a control panel.
Step 3
It can be difficult to make a transmitter and receiver on your own, so use a ready-made kit taken from a miniature radio-controlled car.
Step 4
Make the model of the RC plane itself from a regular 4 mm thick ceiling tile. The fuselage will be flat. Use the same tile to make the wing and tail. It is convenient to cut tiles with a heated nichrome wire.
Step 5
Make the wing V-shaped so that the model can stabilize itself in flight.
Step 6
When using two motors, turns to the sides are carried out due to the difference in thrust of the engines. An actuator is used to control a single-engine aircraft (such a device turns the front axle of a toy car). See how the car controls work and fix the steering in the same way.
Step 7
To increase the size of the screw, use a reducer, which can be made from gears from toys, an alarm clock, or an old printer. The gearbox can also be belt-driven.
Step 8
The engine is installed so that its axis is slightly chamfered upwards. This setting allows the model to be pulled up at full throttle. The flight in a straight line is performed on medium throttle. The model will be powered by a powerful capacitor.
Step 9
If infrared communication is used for control, the receiver must be visible when the model is flying. When using radio control, position the antenna under the wing of the aircraft.
Step 10
Before the first flight, start the aircraft model without a motor - lightly push it at an angle of 10 degrees to the horizon. The model must plan smoothly. If the flight is stepped, shift the center of gravity forward, if the plane is diving, shift the center of gravity towards the tail. Now you can put the motor on and start your first demo flight.
