Most people have their own hobbies that they pursue in their free time. For example, many are fond of aircraft modeling. It's not even just a hobby, but a whole art. A very complex model can only be assembled by a modeller with extensive experience. But what about a beginner? How to build an airplane model for the first time?
It is necessary
Paper, cardboard, drawing supplies, pencils, felt-tip pens, scissors, PVA glue
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to think over the future model of the aircraft. Decide which one it will be. It can be an exact replica of a real plane or a model you make up. You can feel like an aircraft designer and try to develop a new aircraft model. Draw a sketch of the future aircraft. When sketching, it is not necessary to make a detailed drawing. The sketch should show an approximate view of the future model and its special features.
Step 2
Start making a detailed drawing of the future model. When performing it, you need to rely on the sketch you made earlier. Also decide in advance on the dimensions of the future model. Remember, the smaller the model is, the more difficult it will be to assemble it. First, make a rough draft of the drawing on which you will make all the calculations. Then transfer it to a blank piece of Whatman paper.
Step 3
The time has come to decide on the material from which your model will be made. The choice is great. You can use polystyrene, wood, cardboard or plastic. Choose cardboard from this wide assortment, as this material is the easiest to process.
Step 4
Mark the sheets of cardboard according to the drawing. Check everything a few times to make sure there are no errors. During the process of marking, it may happen that there will be a lot of extra lines on the cardboard. Therefore, circle the lines along which you want to cut with a red pencil or felt-tip pen.
Step 5
Carefully cut out all parts. Try not to leave burrs at the corners of the cutouts. When all the parts are cut, proceed with the assembly. For bonding, use PVA glue, which becomes colorless when dried. Try not to leave traces of glue on the surface of the model. Make sure that all gluing points are flat against each other. After finishing the assembly, put the model aside to dry.
Step 6
Decorate your model to your liking. For decoration, you can use multi-colored paper, glitter, pencils and felt-tip pens. Also consider where your model will be located. You can make a stand for her. Or you can hang it on a transparent fishing line. Then there will be a feeling of a model floating in the air.
