The heroic drama "Match" tells the story of the famous feat of the Dynamo players in the summer of 1942 in Nazi-occupied Kiev. Ten matches took place between the Start team, which consisted of Dynamo, and the Nazi team. All the matches were won by our players.
Film producers: Ilya Neretin, Dmitry Kulikov, Timofey Sergeytsev. They have been working together for almost twenty years, and their field of activity is not limited to the film industry. In 1999, under their leadership, the documentary film "Ukraine and the Ukrainians" was shot, and then the idea of the film "Match" was born. The story had a problem with the players of the Dynamo-Kiev team, so it is not surprising that the idea of the film "Match" came exactly on the territory of Ukraine. The Soviet film "The Third Time", according to the general opinion of the producers, was not successful either creatively or in terms of distribution. And it was a pity that this picture did not really take place in the cinema. The producers wanted to fix this and restore justice. This is how the idea of the current film was born, and in 2012 it will be 13 years since it began to be implemented.
The beginning of the 2000s was not a favorable period in cinema, at that time it was almost impossible to find money. Cinema is an art and a business that is built on payback, so for a long time producers have been waiting for the right moment to get production in full swing. The situation in the film industry became more favorable in the mid-2000s, and at the end of 2007, the creation of the script was started. It took two years to write the basic version, it was a long and painstaking work. Script writers: Timofey Sergeytsev, Igor Sosna, Dmitry Zverkov. There were constant discussions, something was added, something was deleted, something was altered, as a result the final script was ready in December 2010. In the autumn of the same year, the preparatory period of filming began.
Andrei Malyukov was invited to the post of director with practically no selection. In cinematic circles, he has the fame of an experienced, respected and, most importantly, a professional director. In addition, he became interested in the project immediately after reading the first draft of the script. The final version convinced the master that it was a powerful foundation for a good movie.
The film's operator Sergei Mikhalchuk, behind whom such films as: "Children under 16 …", "My half-brother Frankenstein", "Lover", also made a huge contribution to the artistic perception of cinema history.
Of course, there were also conflicts regarding the interpretation of the content and creative presentation. But this is a normal process in making a film, because too many individuals work to ensure that the final version is holistic, contains a specific idea and fulfills the task at hand. The team unanimously states that they have worked very well together.
