You can decorate your house and Christmas tree for the New Year not only with purchased decorations, but also with handmade paper garlands. You can do them with your children, thereby teaching the little ones to work and developing fine motor skills.

It is necessary

  • - colored paper;
  • - pencil;
  • - glue or tape;
  • - scissors.

Instructions

Step 1

Pick up paper for the garland, in many respects the appearance and effectiveness of the decoration will depend on it. It is best to choose bright, glossy sheets, of which any garland will look festive and fun.

Step 2

First, try making a chain of rings. To do this, cut strips of different colors and the same size from paper. Using paper glue or tape, glue the first strip into a ring. Thread the second strip inside the ring and glue it in the same way. Thread the next strip into the second ring, they should all be connected like chain links. Continue until the garland is the desired length.

Step 3

Try making a garland out of a long strip of paper. Bend it like an accordion and draw some kind of figure, for example, a girl. Please note that the girl's hands (or other elements of the picture) should rest against the folds. Carefully cut out the figurine, leaving the folds uncut. You will end up with identical girls holding hands. To make the garland longer, make several identical accordions separately and glue them together.

Step 4

A more difficult option, for working with adults: take paper of different matching colors (the combination will look stylish: a sheet with white-red stripes, a sheet with white-red stars, etc.) and cut out identical circles or stars with an even number of ends.

Step 5

Then fold them in the middle and start gluing in pairs so that you get a three-dimensional figure. When it remains to glue the last circle or star, put a thread or tape in the center, then glue the final part of the figure. The number of parts can be different, but not less than three.

Step 6

If you already know how to make simple garlands, and you want a more complicated option, try making an openwork garland out of paper. To do this, cut out many identical circles of different colors and fold each of them in half twice. Bend the four sectors in different directions so that the circle looks like an airplane.

Step 7

Draw semicircular notches on the sides of the triangle with a pencil, alternating one on the right, the other on the left. Cut them out and unfold the circle - you should get an openwork blank. Glue the circles in pairs to form balls. When you have a sufficient number of such balls, glue them together and stretch the resulting garland.
