If you do not want to buy bedding and crib boards for your baby, you can do it yourself. To create a unique design for a child's bed, you only need to have sewing skills on a sewing machine at the beginner's level and, of course, desire.
Instructions
Step 1
Measure the crib first. The baby's standard bed is 120 cm long and 60 cm wide. Sew the sides into the crib first. They are rectangles that are tied to all four sides of the crib with ribbons, their purpose is to protect the baby from hitting wooden parts. Choose a fabric for the beads. It can also be with the addition of synthetic fibers, the main thing is that the material is dense enough. Also get 4 zippers that you will sew into the sides, and thin foam rubber on a hard backing to fill the sides, so they will keep their shape.
Step 2
Make a pattern for the sides. Two small sides will measure 60 by 40 cm, two long sides 120 by 40. Each side is a canvas bag with a zipper sewn on the long side, inside which foam rubber of the appropriate size is inserted. Before stitching the sides of each bead, insert a half-bent tape 60 cm long and 3 to 7 cm wide inward. Place the tapes along the four edges of the bead, at the long bead add two tapes in the middle, bottom and top. You can use ready-made ribbons or make ribbons yourself from a fabric that matches the color, the main thing is to choose cotton material, since satin ribbons will constantly untie. When sewing a stitch with the sewing machine, be careful not to hit the edge of the tape under the needle. Unscrew the resulting board, sew a zipper into it and place the foam rubber there. One of the sides can be made not rectangular, but curly, for example, consisting of a rectangle and a semicircle on it, and decorated along the edge with a border made of linen ribbon.
Step 3
You can also sew your own bedding for the crib. For linen, choose a cotton or satin fabric with a printed baby pattern. The sheet for the crib of the indicated sizes should be 100 cm by 150-160 cm. Add the hemming fabric to the sheet, fold the edges and machine the stitches. The duvet cover can be sewn onto an existing duvet based on its dimensions. Leave a hole for the blanket on the side of the canvas, process the edges. The size of the pillowcase is 40 by 60 cm, but keep in mind that children under one year old sleep without pillows, so sewing the pillowcase can be postponed for a year, or maybe more.
Step 4
For diapers, buy flannel and soft cotton fabric cuts. Now children are not swaddled at night, so diapers are not required in the same quantity as our mothers and grandmothers. Machine the edges of the diapers with a zigzag stitch. They can be used in the crib as a support under the head, babies sometimes spit up, and diapers are easier to change than all linen.
