Such a garland is a great idea not only for decorating a Christmas tree or a room, but also, depending on the shape and patterns of the flags, for any holiday. And it is also very simple and quick to make, so I highly recommend this craft for the joint work of parents and children.
Garland with flags is not only easy to make, another advantage is scalability. Make small flags to decorate a bunch of fir branches for the New Year, or large flags to hang a banner for your birthday. The possibilities for getting creative with this idea are endless.
For a garland, you will need thick thread, string or braid, as well as colored paper for flags, glue or a stapler (if necessary).
1. Cut flags of the desired shape from colored paper (see diagram). Make flags double-sided (folded) or one-sided. Punch the second with a hole punch from above.
2. Place the flags on the cord. If the flags are double-sided, bend each of them, put them on the cord, and then fasten with a drop of glue or a stapler paper clip. One-sided flags should be simply threaded onto the cord (as if stitched).
Note! One-sided flags are best done for hanging on a wall or on a Christmas tree, that is, where no one will see their opposite side.
if you only have white paper, then paint each flag or make appliqués before assembling the garland. You can also pre-select drawings on the Internet (for example, images of cartoon characters) and print flags with ready-made images.
