Floral carnival costumes are enduringly popular with girls, allowing them to transform into a favorite flower and show natural grace and grace. A mischievous handmade tulip costume will add a cheerful note and add brightness to the festive atmosphere.
In order to ensure the recognition of a character from a carnival costume, sometimes one or two characteristic details are enough. So, a spring tulip costume can be made using bright satin fabrics of green, red and yellow colors.
Calyx
When making a tulip costume, it is recommended to focus on imitating the characteristic flower petals. The easiest way to do this is by sewing a simple skirt in bright yellow, deep pink or red. The skirt is sewn from separate rounded in the form of petals-wedges, gathered with an overlap in the area of the belt. The most convenient way to make such a belt is with an elastic band. The splendor of the skirt will depend on the number of wedges-petals. As a rule, 4-6 wedges are used in the work, the edge of which is processed with decorative braid to match the main color.
The blouse is selected either in a neutral color and decorated with an applique in the form of a tulip flower, or in a contrasting color. The neck of the blouse can be decorated with a petal-shaped false collar cut out of thin paper or fabric, with green ribbons sewn as ties.
Stem and leaves
To imitate the stem, green tights or leggings are suitable, shoes can be decorated with a removable velvet paper applique in the shape of tulip buds. For the image of leaves, a wide green drape, sewn from separate narrow wedges, is suitable. If it is not possible to cut and sew wedges together, the cape can be cut in a semicircle in the form of a short cape, tied in the neck area with the help of ribbons.
Headdress
To complete the image of a spring flower, a green headband will help, on which a tulip cut out of thick paper is fixed. If you don't have a rim at hand, you can make a cardboard base: a strip is cut out, the length of which is equal to the circumference of the head with an increase of a few centimeters to fasten the edges. In the center of the strip, an image of a tulip cut out of paper and pre-painted in the desired colors is glued.
The headband can be replaced with a flower-bud-shaped cap. To make it, you need thick wrapping paper, rolled into a small cylinder that matches the size of the child's head. The upper end of the cylinder is crushed by hands, forming a hat with a ponytail sticking up. So that the tail does not unfold, it is coated with glue or wrapped with strong threads. Tulip petals are cut out of crepe paper, matching the color to the overall style of the costume, and glued to the cap so that the petals overlap each other. The tail is wrapped in green paper and fixed with glue.
