To sew or process a garment, it is necessary, first of all, to correctly insert the thread into the sewing machine. There is a certain sequence of operations.

It is necessary

  • - sewing machine;
  • - a spool of thread;
  • - bobbin

Instructions

Step 1

Wind the thread around the bobbin. To do this, put a spool of thread on the main spool at the top of the machine, and an empty bobbin on the second spool, which can be located both at the top and at the bottom. Thread the end of the thread onto the bobbin. Then disconnect the handwheel of the sewing machine and turn it until the required amount of thread is on the bobbin.

Step 2

Raise the sewing machine foot, bring the needle and thread take-up lever to the highest position. Thread the upper thread that comes from the spool, passes through several devices, and then goes into the eye of the needle.

Step 3

Place the spool of thread on the spool on the top of the machine. Draw the thread to the thread guide, the notch on the back of the sewing machine. Then bring it up to a device called the upper thread tension adjuster.

Step 4

Pass the thread between the washers of the adjuster, and go around it from the bottom. Place the thread behind the wire hook on one of the adjuster washers. Then point it to another hook closer to the thread take-up. Place the thread in this hook.

Step 5

Pass the thread through the thread guide through the thread guides near the needle. Then, insert the thread into the eye of the needle from the side with the long groove. The upper thread has been threaded.

Step 6

Thread the bobbin thread. Take the bobbin case and bobbin, and hold it so that the end of the thread drops in the opposite direction from the cap's slanting notch and is closer to the inside of the bobbin.

Step 7

Thread the thread through the oblique cut to the hold-down spring and then into the small cut at the tip of the spring. Pull the end of the thread slightly to check if it is threaded correctly. If the thread comes out easily, the bobbin turns freely - everything is done correctly. The bobbin thread has been threaded.

Step 8

Pull the bobbin thread outward. Turn the handwheel towards you (remember to connect it) while holding the upper thread. The needle and thread will go down into the hole in the stitch plate and catch the bobbin thread and move up again. The ends of both threads should be about 1 to 2 cm protruding outward.
