If you need to sew or process something on a sewing machine, first of all, you need to learn how to thread. Having examined the sewing machine "Seagull", you can see that two threads are used when sewing. To thread the upper and bobbin threads correctly, you need to perform a specific sequence of operations. If inserted incorrectly, the machine will not sew or the thread will break.
Instructions
Step 1
Get your sewing machine ready for use. Move the needle to its highest position using the handwheel. Raise the presser foot. Place the needle in the needle holder, fixing it with the screw.
Step 2
Choose the right thread based on color and size. To get a high quality stitch, you need to use the upper thread one size larger than the lower one. Install the spool pin. Place the spool of thread on it.
Step 3
Pull the thread from the spool to the thread guide, then pass it between the washers of the tension adjuster. If the thread runs correctly, the washers should click. Continue to draw the thread through the thread take-up hook.
Step 4
Pass the thread through the thread guide located on the needle clamp. Thread the thread into the eye of the needle. Use the needle threader to easily thread the needle.
Step 5
Pull on the thread to check if it snags on the sewing machine. Poorly sanded parts can sometimes cut the thread. Do not pull the threaded thread too hard, as this may break the needle.
Step 6
Thread the bobbin thread. Pull out the slide plate and take out the bobbin cap. Pull it out of the hook, holding onto the special latch. Insert the finished bobbin with thread into the cap. Pull the thread through the slit and then the pressure spring on the bobbin case.
Step 7
Pull the thread to see if it unwinds easily. Place the bobbin cap on the hook shaft. If the cap is seated properly and snaps into place, a click should occur. The latching process of the bobbin cap must be spring-loaded.
Step 8
To pull the bobbin thread onto the plate, lower the needle into the hole while holding the end of the upper thread. With the rise of the needle, the lower (shuttle) thread will come out in the form of a loop. Pull both threads under the foot away from you. The sewing machine is now ready for use.
