Before you start sewing on a typewriter, you need to learn how to thread. Consider a sewing machine. You will see that two threads are used when sewing - the upper thread and the lower thread. If they are inserted incorrectly, the machine will either not sew at all, or will begin to tear the threads.
Instructions
Step 1
Wind the thread around the bobbin. Place the spool on the main spool at the top of the machine, and the spool on the second spool, which can be located either on the top or on the bottom panel. Thread the end of the thread onto the bobbin. Disengage the flywheel of the machine by turning the lever to the extreme position. Turn the handwheel until there is as much thread on the spool as you need.
Step 2
Thread the upper thread. This is the thread that comes from the spool, is pulled through several devices and inserted into the eye of the needle. Before threading it, raise the foot and bring the needle and thread take-up lever to their highest position.
Step 3
Place the spool on the spool on the top of the machine. Draw the thread from the spool to the thread guide - the notch on the back of the machine. Bring it up to the upper thread tension dial.
Step 4
Draw the thread between the adjuster washers, going around the bottom of the adjuster. Place it by the wire hook that is on one of the fixed washers on the adjuster. Then guide the thread to another hook, which is closer to the thread take-up. Lead her into this hook. This cost is called compensatory.
Step 5
Pass the thread through the thread take-up hole. Pass it through the thread guides near the needle itself and into the eye of the needle from the side with the long groove.
Step 6
Insert the bobbin into the hook so that the thread, pressed with a special bias plate, comes out with little effort. Insert the hook into the hook. To do this, bend the wing of the hook latch as far as it will go and hold it. Place the hook on the spindle which is inside the hook mechanism. Insert the hook set pin into the cutout of the plate. Release the latch wing and at the same time press down on the hook until it snaps into place.
Step 7
Hold the end of the thread that comes out of the eye of the needle with your left hand. Use your right hand to gently rotate the flywheel. The needle should go down into the hole in the stitch plate and then come out. In this case, there should be a loop of the lower thread on the upper thread.
