Instructions

Step 1

Launch Adobe Photoshop and click File> Open or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O. A standard window for adding pictures will appear. In the central part, the folder with which you operated the last time is open. You can quickly access certain sections through the buttons on the left side of the window: "Recent Places", "Desktop", "Libraries", "Computer" and "Network". At the top there is a drop-down menu, and to the right of it are standard buttons for manipulating the contents of the section: "go to the last viewed folder", "One level up", "Create a new folder" and "View menu". In the upper right corner of the window there is a button for accessing favorite operations. At the bottom there are the "File name" fields (in it you can enter the first letters of the searched file so as not to search among the many in this folder) and "File type" (here you can specify the format of the searched file). After selecting the required file, click the "Open" button, which is located at the bottom right. The Cancel button closes the window.

Step 2

Click the File> Open As menu item or use the Alt + Shift + Ctrl + O hotkeys. A window will open that is no different in functionality from the window described at the beginning of this article, except that there is no Favorites button. Therefore, you can safely not use this option.

Step 3

In Windows Explorer, open the folder containing the required picture. Hold down on it with the left mouse button and drag on the Adobe Photoshop icon in the taskbar. Wait, when the program opens, and drag the picture already inside the "Photoshop".

Step 4

Right-click on the picture's icon and in the menu that appears, select "Open With"> Adobe Photoshop or, if this option is not available, "Select Program". Then click "Browse", find the folder where the editor is installed, find its exe-file there, click "OK", and then "Open".
