To keep the child's hands from freezing and to feel comfortable, the mittens should not be large and loose. They are knitted on two knitting needles or stocking needles. For mittens that the baby will wear in winter, thin woolen yarn is suitable. You can decorate them with a knitted pattern or ornament.

Instructions
Step 1
Cast on 28 stitches. Distribute them on 4 knitting needles.
Tie the cuff with a 1x1 or 2x2 7 cm elastic band. You can change to another color.
Step 2
Knit 2 cm in stitch (up to the thumb).
Mark the place where the thumb will be. Remove the pin 6 loops. On the next row, cast on 6 stitches above the stitches you removed.
Knit in a circle with the front stitch to the end of the little finger - 8 cm.
Step 3
In the next and remaining rows, make a decrease: on 1 and 3 needles - at the beginning of the row, on 2 and 4 at the end. There should be 1 loop on the needles.
Collect them on a thread and secure.
Step 4
Knit a thumb on 4 needles in a circle with the front satin stitch. Make even decreases and close the loops.
Step 5
Tie the second mitten in the same way. On mittens, you can embroider a winter pattern or decorate them with beads or rhinestones.
