There are details in homemade dolls that emphasize the beauty of the whole work. It's about eyes for dolls. There are enough options for making eyes for homemade dolls. Each of them will look different, everything will depend on the materials from which the doll itself is made.

Eyes for rag dolls

The simplest pupae are rag. Eyes for them are made unpretentious to match the dolls themselves. They are in perfect harmony with their general appearance. Eyes for rag dolls can simply be drawn or embroidered. This is the easiest way. They can also be made from buttons. You can simply match the buttons by color or choose a smooth white color and paint the iris and the pupil itself on them.

If the doll is large, you can use glass or plastic hemispheres. They just need to be glued to the same size paper base with an eye image. Instead of paper, you can use a piece of felt painted with acrylics. Such a base of glass eyes for dolls will be more reliable and will allow you to wash the doll if necessary.

Doll eyes can be dazzled. For this, plastic, clay or salty dough are suitable. You can paint and glue the made eyes to the doll.

Realistic eyes for dolls

If you want more realistic eyes for dolls, you can also make them yourself. To do this, take a white doll plastic. Sculpt from it the shape of the eye you need. Using acrylic paints, paint the pupil and iris of the eye. Give depth to the iris color to make the eyes look more realistic.

Use epoxy to make drops on a metal sheet, and after hardening, apply them to the iris of the eyes. Now cover the surface of the eye completely with fimo-gel, wait 10 minutes for it to set, and send the eyes to the oven. After cooling, the eyes will be ready.

For realistic dolls with holes for eyes, the same realistic eyes can be made in a different way. Insert a strip of white baking paste on the back of the eye slots. Before that, sprinkle this place with talcum powder. Gently press the strip with your finger, remove it and bake.

After that, use fine sandpaper and a Dremel tool to remove any irregularities and make a depression for the iris and a hole for the pupil. Use acrylic paints to paint the iris, give it depth, combining light and dark shades of the selected color. Draw the pupil with black paint. At the top of the iris and on the sclera, draw a shadow from the eyelid. Cover your eyes with acrylic glassy varnish.

Make small drops of epoxy. Put them in a warm place for a few minutes so that the mass hardens a little, gently take a drop of epoxy with a toothpick and put it in the recess for the pupil. Do not go over the edges of the grooves and try to prevent bubbles from appearing in the resin. After the varnish and resin have dried, the eyes are ready, you can insert them.
