Step 1

A correctly made drawing will allow you to avoid mistakes when working with the material. Take measurements carefully. You should rely on the dimensions of the place where you want to place your furniture.
Step 2
After making a detailed drawing, you can go directly to the manufacturing process. It is recommended to start with the furniture frame. The frame is best made of wood. To do this, you will need boards of different thicknesses. A huge plus of wood is that this material is easy to process.
Step 3
Make all the individual pieces of the future furniture. To do this, mark the boards. Measure all parts carefully. After that, proceed directly to sawing. Try to make the first fitting from the received parts. They should fit perfectly together. If inconsistencies are found somewhere, then you should carefully adjust the parts until they match.
Step 4
Think about the type of connection of the parts. The type of your furniture plays a role here. If furniture is planned to be disassembled in the future, the "paw" type of connection is best suited, which allows disassembling the furniture, if necessary. If the furniture will be constantly used in one place, then the connection can be made using nails and glue. Assemble all the parts according to the drawing, carefully driving in the nails. Make sure that the heads of the nails fit clearly into the wood and do not protrude above the surface. You should also use glue carefully. After all the parts are assembled, it's time to start processing the workpiece. All sharp edges and corners should be machined to a smooth and rounded surface so that they cannot be felt through the upholstery.
Step 5
Start making upholstery. Use foam rubber 5-6 centimeters thick as a lining. You can choose any upholstery according to your taste. Make patterns according to which you can make the blanks for the sheathing. After that, you can start attaching the upholstery to the wooden blank. Use staples. Try to attach them so that they are least noticeable. Also watch the position of the upholstery. She should not ride and gather to one side. When the upholstery is attached to the workpiece, you can decorate the furniture with decorative elements.
