Boys dream of being superheroes. On the eve of New Year's holidays, you can bring your child closer to the cherished dream by making a costume for one of the brightest fantastic characters - Batman.
Batman costume parts
New Year's Batman costume consists of the following parts:
- black overalls or black trousers with a turtleneck;
- masks;
- raincoat;
- Batman badge;
- belt.
With the first point, everything is extremely simple. Such clothes are in the wardrobe of every child. The rest needs to be worked on.
Making the Batman mask
There are many variations of Batman masks. One of the most common is the mask that hides only the upper part of the face. Make a pattern out of thick cardboard. Draw a straight line on it equal to the width of your forehead. Then continue its edges by about 10-15 cm. Next, divide the line in half, then draw a perpendicular straight line down. The length of the latter should be equal to the height of the forehead and half of the bridge of the nose.
On the sides of a straight line across the width of the forehead, also draw perpendiculars down, they should be slightly shorter than the middle perpendicular line. Then join their ends. Mark the eyes, draw horizontal ovals and start cutting out the mask.
Optionally, you can glue the cardboard with black cloth, leatherette or stretch material.
Next, start making the mask ears. Cut 2 long, even rhombuses out of cardboard and bend them slightly along a long diagonal. You can sew a hat according to any pattern of the hood.
Sewing Batman's Cloak
To make Batman's cloak look spectacular and realistic, use a black umbrella. First of all, remove the knitting needles and the handle from it. Then cut the top off so that you have a neckline. Next, cut from center to edge, then sew the notched edges. Then sew the edges to the sleeves of the black turtleneck or jumpsuit.
If you do not have an umbrella on hand, then you can sew a cloak with your own hands from shiny black fabric. Make a semicircle pattern, draw the membranes from below, like a bat, cut and sew the edges. Then sew the raincoat to the top of the jumpsuit.
The making of the Batman badge and belt
The yellow bat is known to be the emblem of Batman. Therefore, you cannot do without a bright icon. To make it, take a yellow self-adhesive paper and transfer a drawing from a pre-prepared stencil. Cut out the badge and stick it on the Batman costume.
The bat emblem should be centered on the chest of the Batman suit.
You can buy a belt in a store or make it according to the same principle as a badge. Don't forget that it must also be yellow and have the same bat symbol as the badge.
