Gypsy songs, dances, guitars, colorful shawls, fluffy skirts give the holiday a special atmosphere. At any carnival, one or two gypsies are sure to be found. It can be graceful Esmeralda, passionate Carmen, or even just an unnamed gypsy girl who will sing a heartfelt romance or tell fortunes. You can sew a suitable suit yourself, especially since some of its details are probably at home.

Step 1
One of the main details of the gypsy costume is the skirt. Very often in the old days, gypsies wore several skirts. New and beautiful was worn over the old and tattered ones. However, it is inconvenient to wear several skirts at once, so sew one bright sun or half-sun skirt. Measure your waist and skirt length. Calculate the radius of the inner circle. Draw it. Add to its radius the length of the non-frill skirt and draw an outer circle. For a half sun, split the circle in half.
Step 2
It is better to choose a cotton or silk fabric for a skirt wider so that you do not have to make unnecessary seams. Circle the pattern, keeping in mind the seam and waist allowances. Cut out a frill. It should be about 1.5-2 times longer than the bottom edge of the skirt. Its width is 10-15 cm.
Step 3
Hem the hem of the frill or overlock it. Sew very coarse stitches at the top edge, then gather together. Fold the skirt and frill right sides together, aligning the upper middle of the frill with the bottom of the skirt. Baste and stitch did, distributing the gathers evenly along the entire length.
Step 4
Stitch the skirt. Fold the top 0.3 cm, then 2-3 cm, baste and stitch. Insert the elastic and seal the hole. The skirt can be made from several layers. Make several "suns" or "half sun" of different lengths. After stitching the seams, insert one layer into another, then into the third, so that the shortest is on top. Sweep the top edges. Make a belt.
Step 5
The blouse can be found in the closet. In principle, even a T-shirt will do if it has a large enough neckline. A strict English blouse is unlikely to be appropriate. If nothing suitable was found, find a pattern for any blouse. Sew it just like any other blouse, but make the sleeves to the elbow and decorate them with frills. A shuttlecock or even two is most suitable for the neck. Cut out strips of fabric that are 2 times the width of the sleeve and neckline. Overlock or hem the bottom, gather the top edge together. Sew the flounces to the blouse.
Step 6
You can take any shawl. If there is none, cut out a large right-angled triangle from the fabric with a large pattern. It is better to take a double-sided fabric and not very dense. Sew the longest side neatly. Sew the fringe to the other two.
Step 7
Gypsies love bright beads. Find something suitable in the jewelry box. You can make beads yourself. This requires covers from glossy magazines. Draw it in parallel straight lines, leaving a distance of 1 cm between them. You will get something like a sheet with a ruler. Cut the sheet along these strips. Bend each strip diagonally and cut it too.
Step 8
Make a bead. Spread it with glue on the seamy side and twist, starting from the side opposite the sharp corner. Roll in the direction that you smeared. Make the rest of the beads in the same way. Cover them with varnish and string them on a thread or fishing line.
