The success of the hunt depends on the ability to wield a gun, accuracy and speed of reaction. These skills do not depend on the quality and brand of your hunting rifle, but they can be acquired through hard training. Therefore, in order to learn how to shoot well on the hunt, you must constantly improve your style, practicing shooting techniques, even at home.
Instructions
Step 1
Practice such a quality of a successful hunter as accuracy in specially designated places. Start with exercise that builds strength and firmness in your hands. They can be done at home. Then take your classes to a shooting range or shooting range. Be sure to follow the safety rules so as not to accidentally harm yourself or others. If possible, consult with an instructor who will tell you where you are making mistakes.
Step 2
Practice the ability to shoot at stationary targets first. When firing, keep the gun firmly on your shoulder, which reduces recoil and allows for accurate follow-up shots. Do not leave a gap between the cheek and butt. Make sure that the bar is not visible, but the front sight is visible. Press the trigger quickly, but without jerking. After you learn how to accurately hit stationary targets from a distance of 20, 35, 50 m, proceed to shooting in flight.
Step 3
Don't forget the acquired skills. Ensure that the gun, after throwing up, is in the position for shooting at a stationary target, the stock is tightly pressed to the shoulder, the cheek to the stock, and the bar is not visible. This can be done with frequent daily picks, even at home.
Step 4
Practice your accuracy at fast flying targets, learn to take lead when shooting, taking into account the speed and direction of the target. There are special lead tables in meters, but it is quite difficult to keep it in your head, especially since it is forgotten when gambling. Gradually, with experience, you will learn to instinctively determine the parameters of the shooting.
Step 5
When aiming at a flying bird, dash into the head or neck, often a bullet, hitting the body, simply damages the wing and the wounded bird flies away. If a flock is flying, then your target is a duck flying in front, often with several more birds falling under the shot. Try the trick of experienced hunters - do not close, but only squint one eye, they claim that this increases the accuracy of shooting, because at the same time a more accurate eye gauge is preserved.
Step 6
When shooting ahead of time, move the barrel to the calculated point and fire the shot, continuing the movement of the barrel. Stopping the gun is one of the most common mistakes novice hunters make.
Step 7
Memorize all the factors that determined each successful shot - distance, speed, clearance, in order to repeat the success in similar situations. Effective shooting is made up of mistakes taken into account and experience gained.
