When the cold weather sets in, we increasingly think about how good it would be to wrap our legs in warm woolen socks in order to always feel comfortable and warm. Many of us, at the first sign of a cold snap, go to the store and buy our own socks. But you can knit socks yourself. There is nothing difficult in this, if you have knitting skills, then you can easily and quickly knit yourself warm socks that will warm you in frosty weather. When knitting a sock very often there are problems with the correct knitting of the heel. So, let's look at step by step how to do it:

It is necessary

Woolen threads, 5 needles, nylon thread to add to the heel

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare five knitting needles for knitting. Depending on the density of knitting, on average, you will need 100-150 grams. wool. If the socks are with an ornament, then a little more thread will be needed.

Step 2

In a circle from right to left, knit 4-5 cm on the outside with 1x1x elastic. Having knitted an elastic band (cuff), knit another 5 cm with stocking (to the ankle). After that, knit the heel out.

Step 3

Divide the knitting into two equal parts and knit loops on only two knitting needles: the 3rd and 4th (the loops that are on the 1st and 2nd knitting needles do not participate in knitting the heel).

Step 4

For the convenience of work, first knit the loops from two knitting needles to one (from the 3rd and 4th). Then knit a straight fabric - heel height. Determine the height of the canvas as follows: the number of extreme loops from one of the edges is equal to the number of loops on one knitting needle.

Step 5

Form the heel by decreasing the loops. Divide the loops, including the extreme ones, into three equal parts (if the resulting number is not divisible by three without a remainder, then add the remainder to the middle part).

Step 6

Start knitting the first row of the wrong side of the fabric. Connect the loops of the first side part, then all the loops of the middle part. Tie the last loop with the purl together with the adjacent loop of the second side part. Leave the remaining loops untied.

Step 7

Now knit the second row with the front loops (front side of the canvas). Remove the last loop and tighten. Connect all the loops of the middle section except the last. Tie it with the adjacent loop of the first side part.

Step 8

Repeat the 1st and 2nd rows so that all side stitches are tied to the outermost middle stitches. Finish the work by knitting the front row. Only the loops of the middle part will remain on the spoke. If you do everything right, then easily and quickly knit the heel of the sock. When forming a heel, add a nylon or other strong thread to the woolen thread. When you knit the heel, break this thread and continue knitting only woolen.
