Instructions

Step 1

Tie the heel wall of the future sock. To do this, take the first and fourth knitting needles into work (if you wish, all the loops can be transferred from them one knitting needle - this is convenient). Knit straight and back rows equal to the desired heel height.

Step 2

Calculate the number of rows needed this way: you should have as many hem stitches as there were on one knitting needle. For example, there are 10 stitches on one needle and 10 stitches on the hem. These are 20 rows that form the heel wall of your knitted sock. The last working row should be knit.

Step 3

Start knitting the heel cup. To do this, divide the knitted fabric into three equal parts and place them respectively on different knitting needles. If there is an odd loop left, attach it to the middle. For example: 6 loops (left side of heel), 8 (bottom) and 6 (right side).

Step 4

Knit 1 row (wrong side of heel) with purl loops. First 6 loops from the left side, then the middle loops. Purl the last loop of the middle along with the loop of the right side. Leave the rest of the side stitches untied and turn the knit over. In front of you is the front side of the heel (row 2).

Step 5

Remove the edge loop on the working needle and pull it tighter. Knit the middle part, leaving the last loop untied. Knit it with the front on the back walls, together with the first side loop. Turn the knitting over again.

Step 6

Continue to knit the heel in the same way, gradually knitting the side loops of the heel of the toe. As a result, only the middle of the heel remained untied. The last working row is the front one. The heel of the future sock is ready!
