Do-it-yourself warm woolen socks are always more pleasant than those bought on the market. They put their soul and fantasy into them. You can make all kinds of fantasies come true in knitting socks! Knitting them is very simple, but some difficulty arises when knitting a heel for a sock.

Instructions

Step 1

For the greatest strength of knitting, tie another nylon thread to the main woolen thread. Divide the entire knitted fabric into two equal parts. Continue to knit only one half of the fabric that you decide to make with the heel. For convenience, fold all the loops of the two knitting needles of the heel half of the canvas by one. Tie the heel height.

Step 2

The heel height is determined as follows: the number of edge (edge) loops of the heel fabric must be equal to the initial number of loops of one knitting needle. For example, if at the beginning of knitting a sock on each knitting needle there were 15 loops, then the number of heels on the knitted fabric of the heel should also be 15, that is, you need to knit 30 rows.

Step 3

Pause knitting. Pay attention to the fact that it is necessary to finish knitting of heel height only with the front row. Shape the heel by lowering the center stitches of the heel. To do this, mentally divide the knitted heel fabric into three equal parts. If the entire loops are not divided by three without a remainder, then add the resulting remainder to the middle. For example, if there are 32 loops on the knitting needle, then 10 should be left at the edges, and 12 loops should be taken for the middle.

Step 4

Knit the first row with a decrease using purl loops as follows: knit the first part of the side loops and all the loops in the middle except for one. Knit it together with the first loop of the second edge part.

Step 5

Knit the second row by analogy with the first: knit the side loops, but remember that one loop is gone, then the middle part, with the exception of the last. This last loop is knit with the first loop of the other side of the heel. Alternate the first and second rows, this way, until only the middle loops of the heel are left on the knitting needle. Continue knitting heel-to-toe until you match the length of the knit with the length of the midsection.
