Instructions
Step 1
For sewing a dress for the office, woolen, crepe or knitted fabrics that keep their shape well are suitable. Choose a model from a fashion magazine or build a dress pattern that you can use to model almost any model.
Step 2
Typically, the technical description of the model indicates the required amount of fabric and the optimal layout pattern for the pattern. Re-take the pattern with tracing paper and trace the contours of the pattern details to the wrong side of the fabric.
Step 3
The order of sewing the dress is as follows. Sew the darts on the chest and back first. Iron them to the middle of the part.
Step 4
Sew a hidden zipper along the middle cuts on the back. It will be easier and more accurate to do it using a special foot for sharpening it. Open the clasp and press the spiral with your thumbnail so that you can see the "seam line" on the tape.
Step 5
Place the open zipper with the outside of the front of the back. Adjust the sewing machine foot so that the spiral is to the right of the needle under the notch. Sew the zipper from the top end to the cut mark. Then close the zipper and sew the other half of the zipper in the same way.
Step 6
Next, sew the middle seam along the back from the bottom to the closure. Tack at the end of the seam.
Step 7
Fold the front and back parts right sides together. Stitch shoulder and side seams. Overlog or zigzag seams. Iron all seams.
Step 8
On the sleeves, sew and fit over the bend. Iron it with a steam iron or a damp iron. Sew the sleeve into the armhole. Press the hem allowance on the wrong side and sew with a blind stitch.
Step 9
Next, process the neckline of the dress. Duplicate the stitching with non-woven fabric and sew a narrow zigzag stitch along the edge. Place the facing side to the front of the neckline and sew. Cut the seam allowance close to the seam and fold back the piping to the wrong side. Sweep clean and iron the neckline. Remove the basting. Blindstitch the edges of the piping to the fastener tape.
Step 10
Press hem allowance to wrong side. Sew by hand with a blind stitch.
