Argentine tango is associated with many people with tight-fitting men's suits, dresses with a deep neckline and large cutouts, and even with a rose in the teeth of a gentleman. However, in reality, this dance is very different from the classical tango that people are used to. He has a special dress code to adhere to, and it is often easier to follow than to choose the right clothes for the office.
When attending a team building training, where they teach "office" Argentine tango, it is important to look presentable, because in the classroom you will meet with colleagues, bosses, subordinates or clients, so the inappropriate appearance will certainly be noted by others and may further affect your work. However, do not forget about the rules and the special dress code of the Argentine tango.
Avoid clothing that exposes your back first. First, your colleagues or clients may find it inappropriate. Secondly, do not doubt that while practicing Argentine tango you will certainly sweat, and sliding your hand over your partner's sweaty back is a dubious pleasure. A nice, stylish top or T-shirt made from natural fabric will help solve the problem. If you plan to wear a shirt, it will be appropriate to complement it with a cotton T-shirt, which can be removed after class. In any case, it should be borne in mind that in addition to the bare back, wide sleeves are prohibited: they will prevent you from hugging your partner.
Both men and women should give preference to comfortable trousers that do not stick to their feet. Pants should be neither too wide nor too tight. Ladies can also give preference to skirts or dresses, but at the same time it is very important to choose not the classic straight models, which are most often worn in offices, but clothes that are loose enough at the knee level. Tight, too wide, too long or too short skirts will interfere with dancing.
Both men and women who prefer trousers should refuse belts with bulky or sharp buckles. Remember that Argentine tango is a contact dance and during a close hug you can hurt your partner. It is bad when a dancer or dancer has to think not about dance or music, but about how to be able to stay away from other people's accessories, while maintaining relatively close contact. The same applies to necklaces, pendants, rings, bracelets, brooches and other jewelry: they should not have sharp, large elements or details that can catch on the partner's clothes, scratch his skin. It will be better if you give up jewelry altogether, which can somehow interfere with the dance, and do not use them at your own peril and risk. Argentine tango is austere in this matter: let your dance and sophisticated, elaborate movements decorate you, not accessories.
