A manto scarf is a versatile product that can combine a wide scarf, cape and even a scarf at the same time. It can be secured with buttons, ribbons or pom-pom ties to gracefully hug the shoulders and accentuate their grace.

It is necessary

  • - circular knitting needles;
  • - hook;
  • - yarn (mohair or "Grass");
  • - satin tape.

Instructions

Step 1

In appearance, cloak scarves are very diverse, that is, in this direction there is no single universal pattern that will fit any model. Thus, each needlewoman turns her ideas into reality, using general ideas, as well as her own imagination. The cape can be straight, lowered over the shoulders, or slightly flared, long and short, dense or openwork, etc.

Step 2

In order to knit a scarf, it is advisable to choose a yarn that has a sufficiently long fiber. In this case, mohair is suitable (it also warms remarkably) or synthetic threads "Grass". The latter type of yarn, due to its volumetric structure, will well hide possible shortcomings in the process of work. Before starting to work with the main product, be sure to knit the sample by typing 20 loops for this. Make 20 rows on it, close the hinges, then wash, straighten on a flat surface and dry. Now you can start calculating the loops for a cloak scarf.

Step 3

To correctly knit a scarf, take measurements first. To do this, throw a measuring tape over yourself (or another person), and in such a way as to throw a scarf or scarf over your shoulders. Determine the resulting girth, starting and ending with a point in the middle of the sternum through the edges of the shoulders. For example, it turned out 100 cm. If 10 cm is 20 loops, therefore, 100 cm will be 200 loops (-1 loop is extra), therefore, 199 loops.

Step 4

Type the calculated number of loops on the circular knitting needles (it is easier to knit and try on them) and knit the first row with the front loops, and the second row with the purl loops. Knit the 3rd row according to the scheme: 1 front loop * 1 yarn over, 1 front loop, 1 yarn over, 30 front loops *. Repeat the rapport 5 more times and finish the row like this: 1 yarn over, 1 knit, 1 yarn, 1 knit. In total, 6 wedges will turn out, of which the cloak scarf will consist. Make marks from threads of a different color between the wedges so that you can clearly see the expansion points of the product. Knit the 5th and subsequent rows according to the pattern, alternating the purl and front rows. In every 4th row, repeat the rapport of 3 rows, keeping in mind that the wedges increase by 2 loops each time.

Step 5

Continue knitting to the desired length, for example, to the waist, then close the loops. Tie a manteau scarf around the entire perimeter with a simple column 2-3 times. For decoration along the edge of the product, crochet teeth, small loops or scallops. Pull a satin ribbon along the upper edge through the formed loops, which is tied on the chest in the form of a bow.
