It is necessary

  • - corrugated plastic tube;
  • - insulating tape;
  • - nylon twine;
  • - paper;
  • - marker;
  • - CD box;
  • - glue;
  • - stationery knife;
  • - foam rubber.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a piece of paper, place your hand on it, and trace it carefully with a pencil or marker. This is a mechanical arm template. Mark the hinge points on each finger of the template.

Step 2

Take a corrugated plastic pipe. Such tubes are used by electricians for wiring. Measure from each finger of the template to your wrist. Cut the tube into five pieces of the appropriate size using a utility knife.

Step 3

Attach the line segments to the template and mark the location of all the hinges on them, referring to the marks made earlier. Make V-notches in the marked places.

Step 4

Thread a nylon cord through each of the five lengths of tubing. Tie knots at the top of the fingers to secure the string. Leave the long ends on the other side. Secure them with electrical tape. You can trim the excess cord later.

Step 5

Measure carefully the width of the template's palm. Measurement should be taken just below the hinge knuckles. Cut a strip of plastic to the correct size from the CD case. Connect the "fingers" of the mechanical hand by gluing them onto a plastic base. Make sure they are connected in the correct order.

Step 6

Remove the tape securing the ends of the nylon cord. Wrap the mechanical hand several times with duct tape.

Step 7

Glue the “thumb” to the base of the “palm” and additionally fix it with electrical tape.

Step 8

Make a wrist. To do this, you need to take a tube of the right size and stretch the free ends of the string into it. A rigid tube is recommended for making the wrist. Secure the palm to tube connection by gluing a piece of plastic to the wrist.

Step 9

Glue the foam to the finger and palm of the model. The mechanical arm is ready.
