A sleeve is not only a functional but also a decorative piece of clothing. It can be pulled over a sweater and knitted mitten, additionally protecting your hands from the cold. Tastefully made products interestingly complement not only outerwear, but also festive outfits with a shirt or blouse. They are often knitted together with fashionable capes, ponchos and leggings. Try to make both casual and smart versions of knitted oversleeves - it does not require a lot of time and a lot of material from you.
It is necessary
- - one-color yarn (optional - a combination of different colors);
- - knitting needles straight or circular;
- - centimeter;
- - needle;
- - a sewing machine, lace tape, paper and a pencil for a pattern or a crochet hook (optional).
Instructions
Step 1
You can knit oversleeves either with straight knitting needles or round. First, calculate the knit density and make a test strip with a 2x2 elastic (knit two, then purl two).
Step 2
Try on an elastic band on your arm to get the correct size. Measure the thickest part of your arm; take into account the future clothes under the armband, as well as the estimated length of the product. In order for the thing to warm the hand well and look stylish, it is recommended to make it no shorter than 20 cm.
Step 3
Tie the right size fabric in straight and back rows with an elastic band, then close the loops of the last row.
Step 4
Sew a joining seam on the seam from the wrong side of the piece. Sewing circular rows on five knitting needles will create seamless pieces.
Step 5
You can tie oversleeves in the same style with homemade ponchos, sweaters, leggings, hat, etc. In this case, make the upper edge of the garment with an elastic band (1x1 or 2x2), tying it about 5 cm in height.
Step 6
Then knit the product with the selected pattern, while in the front rows it is necessary to make uniform increases according to the individual size.
Step 7
At the bottom of the sleeve, reduce the loops (according to the number of increases at the beginning of work). Tie the product with an elastic band.
Step 8
Another option for expanding the fabric of the arm ruffles is making bevels on both sides. For example, you initially had 47 stitches on straight knitting needles. Make short rows starting at the middle five stitches.
Step 9
Insert in every second row (on the right and left sides) seven times, three loops.
Step 10
When you've finished 14 rows, start beveling. To do this, in every tenth row, it is necessary to add eight times on the loop on each side of the sleeve. As a result, you will have 63 loops.
Step 11
After 96 rows from the beginning of the product, make an elastic band of the desired height and close the loops. You just have to make the side seams on the finished oversleeves.
