Among the classic types of martial arts, arm wrestling stands apart, which is the most humane and intelligent way of wrestling. However, despite the peacefulness, each match is, in fact, a fierce battle, in which both strength and knowledge of the technical aspects of sports play an equally important role.
Instructions
Step 1
Arm wrestling involves static external loads. This means that training should take place in the gym, with barbells and appropriate equipment. Exercises on uneven bars and a crossbar turn out to be much less useful. In addition, exercises should be done not on the "number of sets" (for example, 5 sets of 15 barbell presses), but, on the contrary, with an emphasis on quality and weight gain (3 sets of 10 presses, but with more weight). Pay special attention to static exercises - i.e. those that are performed not by repetitions, but by "fading in a single pose." This load is closest to the real one.
Step 2
Choose your tactics. In fact, there are two positions in armwrestling: aggressive and defensive. The first implies that you impose your own tactics on the enemy, the second - that you give up the initiative at the initial stage in order to track the behavior of the enemy. Obviously, both positions have pros and cons.
Step 3
At the initial stage, try to take a stable position. Think back to high school physics in the seventh grade: the smaller the lever (in this case, your hand), the harder it is to move it. Move closer to the table and bend your elbow, bringing your shoulder closer to your wrestling arm.
Step 4
Attack if you want to seize the initiative. This can be done in several ways: "top" (with the brush you press on the opponent from above), "from the side" (turn your palm towards you, directing the movement to the chest - this plane is more convenient for applying force) and "jerk" (analogous to the "top" attack, but much sharper).
Step 5
You may not attack immediately, but wait a while. Surely the enemy will try to seize the proposed advantage, but his pressure cannot last too long - take a moment and counterattack. This tactic is suitable for an opponent unknown to you (allows you to assess the possibilities) and for a stronger one: the defensive position is more stable, while the attacker exhausts much faster.
