Pockets on knitwear can be very different - vertical and oblique, large and small, of various configurations. However, the most popular and practical parts are horizontal ones. You can make them overhead or internal. Tying a pocket is not at all difficult, but you need to do the work extremely carefully - otherwise the thing will look artisanal.

Instructions
Step 1
Try to knit a pocket in the simplest shape - an invoice. It needs to be made in the form of a rectangle, the height of which will be one centimeter more than the width of the part. Follow the fabric with the main knit pattern. To fix the shape, knit the last couple of rows with garter stitch. Sew the finished pockets to the front of the garment with a neat blind stitch. Use the same yarn as for your main job.
Step 2
Mark the outline of the horizontal pocket on the pattern of the shelf of woolen clothes; select the line of its slot separately. Tie a rectangular burlap of the desired size, then thread the open loops of the last row over the pin and set them aside for a while.
Step 3
Knit the shelf of the product with the main working pattern until you reach the marked line of the inner pocket. Tie the front row to the beginning of the slot and thread as many open loops as there are along the top edge of the burlap on the auxiliary thread. Secure them with a knot.
Step 4
In place of the stitches you removed, put on the stitches that were set aside on the pin. Knit the last loop of the working row and the first loop of the burlap together. Next, work with the main pattern of the knitted fabric and at the end of the cut again knit the front one from two loops at once: the last loop of the burlap and the first loop of the working row. Tie the shelf to the end.
Step 5
String the loops from the auxiliary thread onto the left knitting needle and knit an approximately 2 cm wide edging, repeating the knitted pattern of the placket and collar.
Step 6
Sew the edge of the piping very carefully with a blind stitch to the product. Steam off the finished garment, including the pocket details, and attach the burlap to the wrong side of the shelf.
