The folk nursery rhyme about the magpie, which cooked porridge and fed the children, is remembered by many. Magpie is the heroine of many folk tales. It is believed that this particular bird connects the two worlds, the world of the living and the world of the dead. It is she who brings the most unexpected news, because it’s not for nothing that there is an expression “the magpie on the tail brought”. A man who speaks a lot and quickly is said to pop like a magpie. This bird can often be seen even in the city, so it will not be difficult to observe it before drawing.

It is necessary

  • - Paper;
  • - a simple pencil;
  • - colored pencils or watercolors;
  • - a picture with a picture of a magpie.

Instructions

Step 1

Each bird has its own characteristic pose. A magpie is usually depicted sitting on a branch. At the same time, her body is located horizontally, and her tail sticks up at an obtuse angle to the back. Start drawing the magpie from the torso. It is an irregular elongated oval. The lower part of the body is more convex than the upper one. Magpie's paws are small, but strong.

Step 2

The magpie's head is round and, as it were, pulled into the shoulders. Draw a circle so that part of it overlaps the torso. Remove that part of the circle that was on the body, then it will seem that the "shoulder" protrudes slightly forward. Draw an eye approximately in the center of the circle; in a magpie, it is not so small. The beak of this bird is rather long and sharp, it is slightly lowered down.

Step 3

A very characteristic feature of the magpie is its wonderful long tail. Most of all it looks like a long sword with a pointed end. The tail sticks out almost straight, and it is, as it were, divided lengthwise into two unequal parts, the lower half seems much narrower if the magpie is sitting in profile.

Step 4

Draw a wing. It is very similar to the shell of an oyster or pearl mussel: the same elongated oval with a sharp end, and the feathers are arranged in the same wavy lines. Since the magpie sits sideways, only one wing is visible.
