Solo is an instrumental fragment of a song, when the vocalist gives up the foreground to the instrumentalist. In order not to lose face at this crucial moment, you need to learn the solo well by following simple instructions.
It is necessary
- Electric guitar connected to amplifier and processor;
- Elementary musical knowledge.
Instructions
Step 1
Start exploring solo play with your own compositions, not your own. Before starting the game, analyze the musical text: the style of music, the techniques used, scales, tonality, etc. Listen to the work performed by the author.
Step 2
If possible, prepare a "backing track" of the piece by removing the guitar from the track. Do it with any sound editor.
Step 3
Divide the musical text into small phrases in your mind. Start practicing with the first phrase.
Step 4
If you have already analyzed the work, then you can already see where which techniques are used. Play the first phrase at a slow pace, taking into account all the technical and rhythmic-melodic peculiarities, until you play several times in a row without hesitation. Increase the tempo to the original and play along with the backing track.
Step 5
Learn the rest of the phrases in the same way.
Step 6
Combine the phrases into one formation and play the whole, without hesitation, with all the technical features, at the original tempo.
