Playing the trumpet is by no means easy; this activity requires considerable effort, skill and good coordination of movements. If you decide to learn, contact a professional who will "put" your hand and teach you how to work with the instrument correctly.
Instructions
Step 1
When learning to play the trumpet, the tongue and lips are initially set - at first only on the mouthpiece, without an instrument. The correct position of the lips, according to most trumpeters, is the one in which the student seems to pronounce the syllable "dim" - so the lips are pressed halfway to the center of the mouth and are in the correct position. The mouth should neither be stretched out like in a smile nor overly narrowed. Practice on the instrument begins only after practicing the correct sound reproduction on the mouthpiece.
Step 2
Learn how to breathe properly with specific exercises, both without and with a mouthpiece. Playing the trumpet requires the development of a special type of deep breathing, in which the lungs must be in a state of inhalation with a tense abdominal press for as long as possible.
Step 3
Then try to put all the skills you have learned together: the correct position and work of the lips and tongue, deep breathing. All this is necessary to extract deep sound.
Step 4
See how to hold the instrument correctly, put your hand in a working position and practice pressing the keys in a given note sequence. Pay attention to how your teacher is standing - the musicians keep straight, slightly leaning the body forward. The teacher, of course, will correct your back, but you also monitor your posture.
Step 5
When extracting the first sounds from the instrument, it will be quite difficult for you to combine the position of the lips, tongue, hand positions and correct breathing - this requires a certain amount of training. Be persistent and patient. Once the basic playing skills have been mastered, the following training boils down to 4 main areas: strengthening the correct position of the body when playing, working on getting a beautiful sound, improving playing techniques, playing the instrument in an artistic way.
Step 6
The further permanent work of the beginning trumpeter includes learning the scales - sounds in order, different intervals of sounds, work on etudes - special pieces aimed at developing the playing technique.
