Arto Tuncboyajian is a unique person, an outstanding and famous composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, founder of his own direction in music - avant-garde folk.

Artaud is Armenian by origin. Born in Turkey near Istanbul on August 4, 1957.

From a young age, music took first place in the maestro's personal life. His family also greatly influenced him, namely his brother, also the famous composer and musician Onno Tunç. It was he who made a contribution to the formation of Artaud, was his first teacher, best friend, the support that helped him in his creativity and character formation.

In 1981, the singer decides to radically change his life and moves to the United States of America. He wanted to comprehend something new, give his creativity a new sound and trend, and also make his contribution to the development of music.

Career

For the first time, the famous composer began his work on the big stage in 1968. From the age of eleven, Artaud has already toured with his brother Onno throughout Turkey and Europe. They performed national music and thus since then, and began a professional career as a musician.

Already in the USA, the singer worked and recorded compositions with such famous jazz stars as Chet Baker, Al Di Meola and Joe Zawinul, as well as with Paul Winter and the Earth Band. He also collaborated with the famous singer from Turkey Sezen Aksu and the singer from Greece Eleferia Arvanitaki. In addition, he came to the formation of his own group, the Armenian Navy Band. Part of "Night Ark".

In his direction of creativity, called avant-garde folk, Artaud decided to express his understanding of the world around him, his perception of life, the contribution and legacy of previous generations and his personal knowledge. In 1998, his own band released their first album, "Bzdik Zinvor" (translated as "Little Soldier"). After that, the already famous team, since 1999, begins to conduct touring tours in Europe annually. The group performed all over the world, each time multiplying the admirers of their creativity.

Album "Aile Muhabbeti", released in 2001, was used for the films "Hemşo" 2001 and "Mon père est ingénieur" 2004. The compositions from this album were used as title themes for films, and our musician made his first contribution to cinema.

In addition, Artaud collaborated with the famous leader of the "System of a Down" group Serge Tankian. Also in the album "Toxicity" of this group, a hidden track was noticed, where the composer and his friends and colleagues in the group sang the anthem of the Armenian church.

In 2006, the maestro received the BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music.

Further, in 2008 and 2011 he made another contribution to the cinema. In 2008 he worked on the soundtrack for the film "Plato". And in 2011 he wrote the title theme for the first Armenian interactive film "AlaBalanitsa".

Also, in 2011, the famous composer Arto Tuncboyajian was awarded a Grammy for his work and great creative contribution.
