Large bream usually spend the winter in pits near areas rich in food. When their appetite awakens (this usually happens during the thaw period), bream often go out to feed on other areas, shallower. There bream are caught in winter, and quite successfully. Let's take a look at how you can catch bream with a nodding rod.

Instructions

Step 1

First, choose a rod for your hand, so that it is comfortable to catch and constantly work with a brush. The float with a jig should move smoothly through the water. Otherwise, the bream will be on the alert, seeing a non-standard moving bait.

Step 2

The nod should be chosen very carefully. The best nods are made from metal, metallized or synthetic plates. Its task is to provide the required frequency, vibration amplitude and tempo to the jig. When choosing a nod, pay attention to the shape: it should bend slightly upward. Then, under the weight of the selected jig, it will take a horizontal or almost horizontal position. Thus, the nod will bend in a specific place with an optimal amplitude.

Step 3

Choosing a rod with a nod, take care of the technique of the game. Oscillation should be set by the rod whip and the nod section that is adjacent to it. And the tip of the last section should remain in place, making only minor fluctuations. For bream, an interval of one second between the movements of the jig up and down will be sufficient.

Step 4

The line must be taken thin so that it is fully stretched under the weight of the jig. This will ensure stable bait play.

Step 5

For winter fishing for bream, jigs are used, which at least partially resemble a living aquatic organism, which is characteristic of the local reservoirs. If the depth of fishing does not exceed 3.5 m, it is better to use lightweight lead jigs. At a depth of 6 m, usually medium tungsten jigs are used. Accordingly, at a depth of over 6 m, bream is caught with large tungsten or lead jigs. The color of the jig for bream should be discreet (green, brown, gray, black) so that the bait does not stand out too much.

Step 6

The technique of catching bream in winter with a jig involves unhurried and measured movements. The amplitude of movements of the jig, as well as the frequency of the game, should not be high. Bream can react even to a bait frozen after several movements. He also loves when the bait fiddles at ground level, and then freezes. Large bream often react to jigs that rise evenly from the bottom and with the same range of motion. Sometimes it is enough just to evenly and slowly raise the jig about 20-30 cm above the ground level. It also happens that the bream reacts to a stationary bait.
