Pebble rugs are said to be made in New Zealand. The shape of the rug can be absolutely any: round, oval, square, rectangular or semicircular. This will depend on where the product will be placed. You can place such a rug on the balcony, on the veranda, or in any other interior with natural elements. This little thing will be a reminder of the warm summer days spent on the seashore.
It is necessary
- - a piece of carpet (an old short-pile carpet will do)
- - pebbles
- - carpet knife or stationery knife
- - Super glue
Instructions
Step 1
The piece of carpet must be thoroughly cleaned to keep the pebbles on it very firmly. It needs to be vacuumed and washed with soap and water. Then dry the carpet well.
Step 2
The carpet is turned down with a pile. The desired shape of the rug is drawn on the back side.
Step 3
Proceeding very carefully, cut out the rug with a knife. To prevent the edges from unraveling, it would be nice to process them with an overlock. If such processing is not possible, then a buttonhole stitch can be sewn manually using a gypsy needle.
Step 4
Apply the glue to the pebble and press it firmly against the rug. Then gradually all other stones are glued in the same way, completely covering the space of the carpet. Pebbles can be applied in two ways: from one edge to the other, or from the center to the edges. You cannot start the design by laying a rim around the rug, since at the end of the work a situation may arise that there will be a gap in which the pebbles do not fit.
Step 5
Cleaning such a rug is easy. You can just vacuum it, or you can wash it with a washing vacuum cleaner, which will be the best option.
