In order to learn how to draw a dove, it is necessary to select simple shapes in the structure of its body, draw auxiliary lines and supplement the image with details characteristic of this bird.
It is necessary
- - album sheet;
- - a simple pencil;
- - eraser;
- - watercolor or gouache.
Instructions
Step 1
Start with two ovals. Draw a small oval, which will later be the head of a dove, the second oval should be four to five times larger than the first, this will be the body of the bird. If you want to depict a sitting ruffled pigeon, draw the auxiliary figures close to each other, if your bird has stretched out its neck, leave space between them. Do not press down on the lead as these lines will need to be removed later.
Step 2
Connect the ovals with light strokes so that the lines form the neck.
Step 3
Select the protruding forehead of the bird. Draw a round eye in the middle of the small oval, mark the pupil in it. Use strokes to mark the "cheeks" of the pigeon. Draw a beak at the bottom of the oval; it should point slightly downward. At its base in the upper part, depict a seal, this is a wax, on which the pigeons have nostrils.
Step 4
Draw two auxiliary lines from the middle of the bottom of the large oval. They should point first down and then forward. These lines will help you depict the legs of the bird. The total length of a pigeon's leg with a nail corresponds to the length of its neck in an extended state. Observe these proportions so that the bird does not turn out to be short-legged and bulky. Add feathers to the upper part of the leg, the lower one is not covered with them. Draw three toes with claws pointing forward and one pointing backward. Draw folds on this part of the leg.
Step 5
Select the wings. If they are folded, draw a bend along the body of the bird, finish the wing with large flight feathers. If they are raised, depict loose feathers. Keep in mind that the wingspan of a pigeon is twice its length.
Step 6
Draw the bird's tail. In a calm state, the tail of an ordinary city pigeon is folded downward. But in some species of pigeons, they grow upward and form a kind of fan.
Step 7
Erase the guide lines and color in the drawing. Use gray shades for feathering, keep in mind that the feathers on the inside of the wing are lighter. Make the eye reddish-orange and the bare leg a bright pink.
