Steve Jobs was rightfully considered the most key figure in the modern technology market. At one time, he left college and founded a company that over the years has taken a leading position in the high-tech market. Jobs had ambitious plans. But a fatal illness prevented the Apple founder from realizing his impressive ideas.
From the biography of Jobs
The future entrepreneur, one of the founding fathers of a successful business, was born in California on February 24, 1955. Jobs was brought up by foster parents, to whom his mother gave him up. After graduating from school, Steve went to college, but soon dropped out and got a job.
A few years later, Jobs and his business partner Steve Wozniak founded Apple. Wozniak was the author of most of the company's technological developments, Jobs took on marketing issues. However, it is believed that it was Jobs who convinced his partner that the computer scheme he had invented needed to be finalized. The company eventually made a breakthrough in the small computer market.
In 2000, Jobs's name was entered in the Guinness Book of Records: he became the leader of the company with the lowest salary in the world. His remuneration for the year was one dollar. Subsequently, many managers adopted this strong move made by Jobs.
A year later, Jobs brought the first iPod to market, which soon became Apple's main source of income. In 2008, Steve surprised the world with the world's thinnest laptop. The prospects for the high-tech company and Jobs himself were fabulous. But an incurable disease intervened in the matter, which disrupted all Steve's plans.
The disease of the man who founded Apple
Neither Jobs himself nor the management of the company gave detailed information about his illness. In interviews, Jobs shied away from questions about his health. The entrepreneur considered such questions a personal matter, in which he was not going to initiate anyone.
It is known that Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in 2003. A disease of this kind is considered fatal, but not in the case of Jobs, who was lucky in this sense. The operation could have saved Steve. However, Jobs initially refused it. Instead, he spent several months on a special diet, suggesting that it would help cope with a dangerous illness. Jobs gave his consent to the operation only in the summer of 2004. The tumor was successfully removed. The patient didn't even need chemotherapy.
In the summer of 2006, at one of the conferences, the public noted that Jobs had lost a lot of weight and looked lethargic. There were rumors of a relapse of the pancreatic disease. However, Apple officials assured those present that the company's founder was doing well.
In early 2009, there was evidence that Jobs was suffering from an impressive hormonal imbalance. Steve went on vacation, which he devoted to taking care of his condition and rest. However, he continued to address issues related to company management.
In the spring of 2009, Jobs received a liver transplant, which was directly related to problems that concerned the pancreas. The predictions of doctors after the intervention of the surgeon were optimistic. After the operation, the patient went for walks every day, each time setting an increasingly distant and difficult goal. He acted the way he used to do in business.
However, in the summer of 2011, some publications published pictures, which showed that Steve was very emaciated. He even needed a wheelchair.
As a result, Steve struggled with an insidious disease for about eight years. He was able to last longer than most patients in similar situations. Treatment of such an ailment is considered by doctors to be an extremely difficult task. One of the reasons for the tragic end could be complications after surgery and the failure of the transplanted organ. Another possible cause: side effects of the immunosuppressants the Apple founder was taking.
Death of Jobs
The death certificate, published in the official publications, states that Jobs passed away on October 5, 2011 in Palo Alto, where his home is located. The official cause of his death, doctors called respiratory arrest. Previously diagnosed pancreatic cancer affected other organs, metastases, which also affected the lungs. Apparently, this was the reason for the sudden cessation of breathing.
Before the official announcement, there could be three possible reasons for the death of the entrepreneur. These are liver failure, cancer and side effects from taking strong drugs.
Jobs was buried without any pomp. The ceremony was held in secret from the general public, it was attended by only people close to Jobs.
