In order for the angel's carnival costume to correspond as much as possible to the idea of these mythical creatures, it is necessary to supplement the image with two wings with snow-white plumage. It is quite possible to sew them yourself.

It is necessary

  • - white fabric for the base;
  • - elastic wire;
  • - goose feathers;
  • - decorative cord with down;
  • - dense elastic band 5-7 cm wide.

Instructions

Step 1

Draw one wing in a semicircle on a large piece of paper or wallpaper. Try not to make it too big, as you will use real feathers for decoration later on, and the structure will turn out to be quite heavy.

Step 2

Transfer the pattern to a white fabric. Cut out two symmetrical pieces. Leave 1-1.5 cm allowances.

Step 3

Bend the edge of the wing part along the drawn contour, put the wire inside. Fold the edge so that the cut is inside, sew it with small stitches to the main part of the wing. The wire should be inside. Sew it along the entire contour of the part. Repeat the operation with the second wing.

Step 4

Cut a piece about 100-110 cm long from a wide elastic band. Place the wings approximately in the middle, fix with threads, in addition, you can use gel-based glue. Close the elastic in the ring, sew. Try on the design, put it on your shoulders like a bolero, so that two stripes form on the back, to the top of which the wings are attached.

Step 5

Proceed with sewing large flight feathers to the wings. Start at the bottom row. Place several feathers vertically down so that their side lines are 2-4 mm apart. Tack each bar with two to three stitches. Place the next row of feathers so that their ends cover the threads. Create multiple layers.

Step 6

Conceal the feather shafts of the last layer with a decorative down string. Place it in several rows at the top of the wings so that the base material is completely covered. Also sew a contour along the perimeter of the wing to close minor flaws.

Step 7

Use a wide ribbon of light lace instead of feathers if you cannot find large feathers. Gather it along one edge and sew in several rows.
