An angel costume with wings is easy enough to make even for an inexperienced and skillful needlewoman. If you really want to please yourself and your child with a suit sewn with your own hand, then get to work on one of the long December evenings. And for the New Year or Christmas, expect an angel to visit!
It is necessary
Light white fabric, wire, sequins or sequins, needle thread, sewing machine, elastic band, satin ribbon, white zipper
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the right fabric for the angel costume - an airy sparkling fabric such as organza, chiffon, gauze will do. Use lining, silk or satin for the petticoat. Choose an antique or Empire style pattern from sewing magazines or related sites on the Internet - they are perfect for an angel costume and are easy to make.
Step 2
For the angel wings, use a wire long enough to make two wings. Cut the wing out of the cardboard in the shape and size you want. Use this template to fold the base wire for two identical wings. Pull a well-stretched transparent white fabric over these frames and sew it tightly to the wire. Sew a silver bias tape, sequins or decorative braid with feathers on top so that the threads and wires are not visible.
Step 3
Cut out the following details of the dress - front of the skirt 1 piece with a fold, back of the skirt 2 pieces, bodice 1 piece with a fold, back 2 pieces, satin straps. All details except straps are cut from two types of fabrics. Combine identical parts from different fabrics and sweep to each other.
Step 4
Sew the bodice and skirt, carefully process all the seams. Sew the neckline and bottom of the skirt with the same decorative elements that sheathed the edges of the wings. Try on the dress and pin the satin shoulder straps and zipper for size. Sew on these parts of the dress and iron the garment.
Step 5
Sew on the belt or use a satin ribbon instead. The bodice can be embroidered with sequins or rhinestones - a masquerade or fancy dress evening is the time for everything shiny and sparkling. Take care of the right shoes - white or silver ballet flats or sandals.
Step 6
Make a halo out of wire in the form of a circle on the leg. Sew the circle in the same way as the edges of the wings. Do not trim the leg - it should be invisible. This leg is then secured into the hair with elastic bands, a headband or invisibility. Attach the wings to the elastic. When you dress up, put on the wings first, and then close this elastic band with the bodice of the dress. At the back, the elastic will be covered by the wings themselves.
