With the help of stained glass paints and acrylic outlines, ordinary glassware can be turned into a real work of art. Of course, for the first time, you should not take complex drawings, since the surface requires certain work skills and patience.
It is necessary
- - Glass goblet without drawing and dusting (you can take any transparent glassware);
- - water-based acrylic contours (usually they write on them "for glass and ceramics");
- - stained glass varnishes of different colors (stained glass varnishes, unlike paints, are more transparent and do not require firing);
- - a thin brush of columns or synthetics, it is better to take a natural one;
- - liquid for nail polish remover (you can take a solvent);
- - alcohol for degreasing the surface;
- - cotton swabs, cotton pads or napkins.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the drawing that you want to see on the glass. There are two ways: draw directly with a contour on glass or using a paper template. In the first stages, it is better to choose the second method. The pattern can be picked up on the Internet and printed in the appropriate size or drawn on paper yourself.
Step 2
Practice contouring. The thickness of the line depends on the force of pressure on the tube. You can practice drawing lines first on paper, then on glass. Try to draw straight lines of different thickness first, then curls, circles and small fragments of patterns. The line should be continuous, even and uniform in thickness. Hold the tube at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. You need to be patient here. After training on paper, do the same on the glass. The contour can be removed with nail polish remover or by holding the product in hot water for a while.
Step 3
Prepare the glass surface. First wash the glass with soap and water, then wipe with an alcohol-based liquid. Try to touch the degreased surface with your hands as little as possible.
Step 4
Place the patterned paper on the inside of the glass. You can fix it on the back with tape. Or wet with water and stick.
Step 5
Draw the contour lines. The contour serves to separate the colors, as the stained glass paints are liquid. Let the contour dry for literally half an hour. Uneven lines can be removed with a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover. The dried outline can be gently tweaked with a needle.
Step 6
Now we apply the stained glass varnish. We collect a drop on the brush, after which with the tip of the brush we evenly distribute it over the entire space bounded by the contour. We try to keep the glass parallel to the surface so that the paint does not drip. If you apply too large a drop, the paint will be unevenly distributed or will go beyond the outline.
Each time we wipe the brush with a non-woven material soaked in a solvent (the easiest way is to take a nail polish remover).
Step 7
The finished drawing should dry. In no case should you touch it with your hands until it is completely dry, since it will be almost impossible to remove the prints. Complete drying takes place after 48 hours.
