Not everyone can make a real stained-glass window, but anyone can decorate a glass surface with stained-glass paints, if there is a desire. Colored window panes will enliven your country house, and a colorful pattern applied to a frame, vase or wine glass will add a charming personality to the product.

It is necessary

  • - Water-based stained glass paints;
  • - Brushes;
  • - Contour;
  • - Cotton swabs;
  • - Toothpicks;
  • - Picture;
  • - Dishwashing liquid;
  • - A rag.

Instructions

Step 1

Place the glass piece you want to paint horizontally. If this is window glass, then it must be removed from the frame, or put on the table together with the frame. For small items such as a vase or wine glass, place an old terry towel on the table so you don't accidentally break the glass.

Step 2

Degrease the glass surface. To do this, wash the glass with any dishwashing detergent or wipe it with an alcohol-based liquid. Let the surface dry completely.

Step 3

Prepare the selected pattern. You can find it in a magazine or on the internet. The drawing must meet a certain requirement. You must be able to transfer each element of the picture to the glass so that you get a closed contour, and the colors do not mix.

Step 4

Place the design under the glass surface, if possible. Or position the picture so that you can see it well.

Step 5

Place the contoured tube vertically to the surface. The tip of the tube should not touch the glass. Smoothly squeeze the contour out of the tube. Circle the picture, do not forget to close fragments of the same color. If the contour is slightly beyond the limits of the drawing, then correct it with a cotton swab.

Step 6

Rinse the tube nozzle before the paint has set, this can be done with plain water. Close the tube with the outline tightly.

Step 7

Let the circuit dry well for 2 to 3 hours.

Step 8

Prepare water-based colored stained glass paints. They can be in tubes, like the outline, or in jars. Fill the surface inside each outline with paint. Check the picture. The paint is applied in a thick layer. Disperse it evenly with a brush. Do this carefully so that the paint does not go beyond the outline.

Step 9

Dry the stained glass drawing horizontally until the paints are completely dry.
