If you just want to start making stained-glass windows and are not sure whether you will continue or vice versa, you are sorely lacking paints to create more and more masterpieces, then it's time to make stained-glass paint yourself. Take the Tsapon varnish as a basis, it has proven itself with the best sides in terms of practicality, cheapness and aesthetics. The varnish has excellent optical properties, which is very important for creating stained-glass windows, its film does not cloud over time.
Step 2
Use acrylic dyes to color the varnish. For metallic effects, use metallic pigments such as aluminum and bronze powders, chromium oxide, iron oxide, red lead, and the like. Varnish mixed with pigment can be stored for about 24 hours. "Tsapon" dries quickly and has a low consumption. Apply colored varnish with a brush, spray, or simply dip the surface to be painted. The drying time between layers is 20-30 minutes, and the time for the final hardening of the varnish on the product is another thirty minutes.
Step 3
Calculate the amount of varnish you need - take into account the number of layers, measure the length and width of the future stained glass window. Varnish consumption - 200-250 ml per square meter when applied in 2-3 layers. If necessary, the varnish can be diluted with solvents 646, 647, 648. The paint based on Tsapon varnish is resistant to moisture, and based on Tsapon benzostoyky - also to the effects of gasoline and oils.
Step 4
When creating stained glass windows, try using the glass beads technology - it will add volume and texture to your artwork. Paint the stained-glass area with the desired paint, then, without waiting for it to dry completely, glue transparent glass beads on it. Refraction of light passing through colored glass and beads will create a unique depth and mysterious flicker of stained glass!
Step 5
Purchase the special textured Cracked Ice work panel. Apply varnish-based stained glass paint on it, when the paint dries, remove it in the form of a film and stick it on the stained glass - this piece will acquire the texture of cracked ice. Add mother-of-pearl to the paint, it will give the image additional volume and shine. Try to add various dyes to the varnish - so you will create your own unique stained glass paint, and you will be deservedly proud of the results of your work!
