To make a “classic” paper spinner, you need scissors and glue. If you want to do without auxiliary tools and fold such a toy from a single sheet of paper, without a single cut, make an origami spinner.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a square sheet of paper. You can use regular printer sheets or choose a more colorful option - scrapbooking paper.
Step 2
Fold the sheet in half along the horizontal axis, unfold and fold in half again, but now vertically. Divide the half of the sheet to the right of the vertical in half with the vertical axis. Fold the paper along this line. Do the same operation on the left half.
Step 3
You will have a rectangle in front of you, divided into two parts by a horizontal fold line. Fold the top half of the rectangle in half, folding the paper towards you. The top of the rectangle should be aligned with the horizontal axis. Bend the bottom half as well. Then return both halves to their original position.
Step 4
As a result, the rectangle will be divided by fold lines into 8 squares - 4 on the right and 4 on the left. In the upper right square, draw a line from its lower right corner to the upper left. In the left square, draw a diagonal from the bottom left to the top right corner. Fold the corners of the paper along these lines. Bend the corners of the rectangle at the bottom as well. Then bend all 4 corners back to their original position.
Step 5
Take the rectangle with both hands. Bend the right and left halves slightly. Place your index finger on the top point of the vertical axis, fold the paper, connecting this point to the center of the square. Lay the sides on top. Repeat the manipulation on the opposite side of the rectangle.
Step 6
Bend the upper right triangle along the already marked fold line down to the right. The vertex of the triangle that was pointing up will now point to the right. Fold the lower left triangle up to the left.
Step 7
Insert a thin nail into the center of the resulting pinwheel and drive it into a stick of a suitable length. Leave 5 mm of space between the head of the nail and the stick to allow the spinner to spin freely.
