It is necessary

  • - flexible wire for the frame;
  • - wool;
  • - soap;
  • - a needle;
  • - threads.

Instructions

Step 1

If regular market wool is used, take care of its pretreatment: wash and dry. Please note that if the wool is not combed, during washing it can fall out of a lot of hard short hairs that can clog the drain, so be sure to put a mesh there.

Step 2

Draw a life-size silhouette of the future bear on paper. Then twist the frame of the toy out of the wire in accordance with the drawing. For a beginner, the optimal size of the first craft is 10-15 cm. Take a ribbon of wool, tear off 8 strands: for the head, body and paws with ears. Try to make the strands even, and the trunk strand should be slightly larger than the rest.

Step 3

Begin to "fluff" each strand by stretching the coat across the grain. Note that the fluffier the strands are, the more successful the toy will be. You should end up with 8 puffs of wool. Now start winding. Carefully wrap each strand around the frame part, as if bandaging this part of the figure. Insert the last threads into the part with a felting needle.

Step 4

When winding the wool around the ears, help yourself with a needle, and push the ends of the strands through the loop of the ear to the head and fasten there. So, the preparation of the bear is ready. Now proceed to the actual felting process.

Step 5

Prepare hot soapy water and, dipping the toy into the water, begin to iron each part of it with your hands, pressing lightly at first. The coat should be getting denser under the arms. When this happens, increase the pressure until the entire toy is literally hardened.

Step 6

Now wrap the bear in a towel without wringing it out. When it is completely dry, embroider the eyes, nose and mouth with woolen thread. You can decorate the finished toy with fun accessories, for example, tie a scarf or put on a funny vest. Such a bear is a great exclusive gift, which will take you only 2 hours to make.
