Chenille is a kind of patchwork technique, also called textile fur. A chenille pillow will look unusual and impressive.
It is necessary
- - sharp scissors (cutter);
- - ruler, pins;
- - pencil (water-soluble marker);
- - hard brush (nail brush);
- - fabric for applique;
- - sewing accessories;
- - fabric with a loose weave (viscose, cotton satin, linen, cotton, jeans);
Instructions
Step 1
Cut out a blank of the shape from which you want to sew the pillow from the finishing fabric. The direction of the shared thread must be taken into account. If chenille stripes are planned vertically, then the direction of the share thread when cutting is chosen obliquely.
Step 2
Important! The direction of the share thread must not match the desired direction of the strips, because the workpiece will subsequently be cut. If both directions coincide, then all the threads of the fabric will simply spill out.
Step 3
Cut out the workpiece in 3 copies. In total, 3-8 layers can be made, depending on the thickness of the fabric and the desired effect. The more layers of fabric are used, the thicker the "fur" will be. 6 layers are cut out of cotton fabric.
Step 4
Next, make the markup. Take the top blank and mark the stitching lines on it. It is better to take the distance between the lines within 1, 5-2, 5 cm. Fold all the blanks neatly together, put the lined ones on top, pin them with pins with the background fabric.
Step 5
Sew the workpieces with small stitches, choosing a stitch length of 2 mm. Use a special cutter or scissors to cut each strip between the stitches exactly in the center. In this case, it is important not to damage the base.
Step 6
Soak the finished workpiece in water to wash off the marker. Squeeze lightly, place in a textile bag and send to the washing machine.
Step 7
If, after drying, the chenille is not very fluffy, then take a stiff brush (nail brush) and comb the fabric in all directions.
Step 8
Sew a chenille pillowcase from the blank. Decorate with applique if desired, decorate with flowers, buttons.
